The newest photos really highlight the exquisite beauty of the freshly finished thatch. They show the completed building in all its glory, including a typical outshoot ridge repair, the repaired hip, and even the house-martin nests still safely in place.

The scaffolding came down on Monday, with the eaves netting now fitted, and the results speak for themselves. Master thatcher Michael Aldred has done a truly superlative job.

As always, we are incredibly grateful to The Pilgrim Trust, the Swire Charitable Trust, the Geoffrey Watling Charity, Paul Bassham Charitable Trust and The Headley Trust for their generous grants, which have helped make this work possible.

The Pilgrim Trust have mentioned us in a story on their website about their recent grants and you can read it  here https://www.thepilgrimtrust.org.uk/preservation-conservation-grants-june-2025/
